America’s Energy Advantage Statement on LNG Export Decision

Washington D.C. – May 17, 2013 – America's Energy Advantage (AEA) is pleased with the Department of Energy's (DOE) decision to approve one export permit and consider other permits on a case-by-case basis.  As a result of this decision, the United States will be able to retain the natural gas advantage that is helping American manufacturing grow jobs and spur investment. This responsible process will decrease the chances of price shocks in energy markets and allow energy producers to export LNG and manufacturers and homeowners to enjoy access to competitively priced supplies of natural gas.

As the DOE considers additional pending requests, on a case-by-case basis, AEA supports the need for sustainable production of natural gas to meet the expected demand growth.

Today's decision by the DOE will help ensure that this advantage will be preserved to drive U.S. economic growth.
